Lonely Planet makes a huge call and says that Cesky Krumlov "is possibly the most beautiful historic town in Europe". We think they are pretty much on the money. An amazing two days were spent here meeting up with friends from Wellington - Christian and Rebecca Bonnevie who were coincidentally in our neck of the woods.
The first day we wandered the winding streets and sampled local cuisine finding a great place for dinner with live music, local bier and food. The second day we set out on the river for a "paddle crawl" which involves paddling a raft through the town an into the countryside stopping off at numerous bier and wurst (sausage) stalls sipping away in the sun. On our way down the river we met up with a few characters including "The Captain" a local Czech who was on a work do, and "Snake-bite" a fella who was striding around in his undies with a snake emblazoned on the front. These were later lost to the river. A great day out, super cruisy we pretty much floated down the river and were picked up at the end.
