The idea was to make our way across from Budapest into Austria. On consulting our Europe map we found that Bratislava was virtually on the way to Vienna. With open EU borders we thought why the hell not add another country to our itinerary! So a night in Bratislava, Slovakia was had. The drive into the city left a lot to be desired, the buildings had a look of old Czechoslovakia communism and the overbearingness of hundreds of billboards lining the road side on the way in made us question whether coming here was a wise choice. We were glad to find an interesting city centre which had a great vibe and some very cool street art. It turned out be a city of contrast with a nice little old town right next to very modern bridges and a brand new river-mall complex.
